Staying properly hydrated allows your body to function closer to its optimal level. We’re made up of mostly water and we’re constantly sweating or peeing it out so we need to replenish frequently. If you weigh 200 pounds you should be drinking 100 ounces of water per day. If you weigh 150 pounds you should be drinking about 75 ounces of water per day. Whatever you weight is, you should be drinking half that in ounces of water per day. Pretty simple equation to remember. First thing in the morning you should have a nice tall glass of water before your morning coffee or tea or whatever else you do in the morning. Keep a water bottle with you in the car and at work. 

If you drink your tapwater invest in a filter you can easily put right over your faucet,they run between 20 and 60 bucks. Only downfall is that you need to change the filter once every season at least. If you’re lucky enough to live within at least an hour radius of a natural spring take advantage of that. I used to fill up a 5 gallon jug with water from the Saratoga Springs every two weeks for my office. For some people water gets a little boring so adding things like frozen strawberries blackberries or raspberries to your water can give it a little extra pizzazz to wake up your taste buds. You can also get creative and use fresh mint or cucumbers. Being mindful about your water intake can give immediate results-you’ll notice a difference in your energy levels and your skin.
